Ford Megazilla 2.0 and the 1,200-HP Frostwarden Bronco: What Las Vegas Builders Should Know

Polished high-performance engine with exposed belts and chrome exhaust headers

Short answer: On November 3, 2026, during SEMA week in Las Vegas, Ford revealed Megazilla 2.0, a supercharged 7.3-liter V8 crate engine from Ford Racing Parts that Ford rates at over 1,200 horsepower and over 1,000 lb-ft of torque on race fuel.* It debuted in Frostwarden, a one-off Bronco that Ford says is not for sale. You can’t order the engine yet: a Ford spokesperson told Torque News that details are coming in 2027. Here is what Ford has said, what it hasn’t, and how to talk Ford Racing Parts with our parts team at Team Ford Las Vegas, 5445 Drexel Rd.

*Horsepower and torque ratings per Ford are based on race fuel per SAE J607 standard. Your results may vary. When properly equipped. Horsepower and torque are independent attributes and may not be achieved simultaneously.

What is Megazilla 2.0?

Megazilla 2.0 is the newest member of Ford’s 7.3-liter crate engine family. Ford says it is “not Megazilla 1.0 with a supercharger bolted on” but a new development program (Ford From the Road, Nov 3, 2026). The changes Ford lists:

  • A stronger block
  • A supercharger-specific camshaft
  • Upgraded pistons and larger fuel injectors
  • A different belt drive and damper
  • A 3.0-liter Gen 6 Whipple supercharger at the center of the package

Ford rates it at over 1,200 hp and over 1,000 lb-ft of torque* and calls it “the most powerful crate engine ever created by an automaker.”* That is Ford’s own claim, and the race-fuel footnote applies to it.

Meet Frostwarden, the Arctic rescue Bronco

Ford built Frostwarden around the idea of a Bronco Arctic search-and-rescue rig, and it is the first vehicle to show the Megazilla 2.0 swap. To handle that power, Ford and its build partners added:

  • 42-inch BFGoodrich tires on custom 18-inch Weld bead-lock wheels
  • 74Weld portal gear lifts
  • Upgraded Dana driveline hardware
  • Custom Bilstein dampers

Ford says work started in February, the physical build ramped up in June, and in October the finished engine went from the dyno straight to Kincer’s shop in Tennessee. As Michael Goodwin of Ford Racing Parts put it: “Ford powers what builders imagine.”

One thing to be clear on: Ford says Frostwarden is a specialty modified concept vehicle that will not be offered for sale, and that it includes third-party parts that may affect compliance with federal safety standards and other laws.

Can you buy Megazilla 2.0?

Not yet. A Ford spokesperson told Torque News on November 3, 2026 that “Part numbers, commercial availability, ordering timing, warranty details and pricing will be released through authorized Ford Racing Parts distributors and dealers in 2027.” Ford has not posted a part number, price or ship date on its own sites, so we won’t guess at any of them here.

When Ford first previewed Megazilla 2.0 in January 2025, Ford Performance described it as “for competition-use only, like for desert racing pre-runners and dragstrip dominators.” Ford hasn’t said anything newer about street use. When Ford releases ordering details, our parts department will have them, and we’ll update this page.

Ford Racing Parts warranty, in plain words

Ford Racing Parts are not the same as Genuine Ford Accessories. Per Ford’s Ford Racing Parts warranty page (checked November 4, 2026):

  • Most Ford Racing Parts are sold with no warranty unless Ford specifically designates them.
  • Select warranted packs, installed by an authorized Ford or Lincoln dealer and registered, are covered for the balance of 36 months/36,000 miles and won’t void the new-vehicle limited warranty.
  • Ford has not announced a Megazilla 2.0 warranty. Ford says those details come in 2027.

Will Megazilla 2.0 fit my truck?

Honest answer: Ford hasn’t published fitment for Megazilla 2.0. A swap this size is more than an engine. Ford’s own Frostwarden build needed portal gear lifts, upgraded Dana driveline parts and custom dampers to use the power. Before you plan a build around it, talk with a Ford parts specialist about what your truck would need.
