We checked these routes with OpenStreetMap routing on November 1, 2026. Mileage only. Travel time depends on the grade, traffic and what you’re towing.

The main route: take SR-160 (Pahrump Valley Highway, which becomes Blue Diamond Road) east over the Mountain Springs summit and down into the valley. The path we routed then turns north on Rainbow Blvd to I-11/US-95 north, exits at Ann Rd, and ends on Drexel Rd. Some drivers would rather take the CC-215 Beltway for the in-town stretch. Check live traffic and use whichever is moving.
The northern option is longer, but it skips the Mountain Springs grade and the valley streets. You come into Las Vegas from the northwest on US-95 and exit at Ann Rd. It can make sense if you’d rather not climb the pass with a heavy trailer.
Before you leave: NDOT posts SR-160 work zones and escorted oversized loads on Nevada 511. A quick check before you leave can spare you a slow crawl behind a pilot car.

The 6.7L High-Output Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel (500 hp, 1,200 lb-ft) is available. Ford says Tow/Haul mode holds gears longer on climbs and adds engine braking on descents, which is exactly what the SR-160 grade asks of a loaded truck. Maverick fits the person who drives SR-160 to work in the valley several days a week and still wants a bed for weekend projects.
